Daily Sound Agrees to Turn Over Stabbing Photos

On 8/2, fearing that a legal battle would bankrupt the paper, the Santa Barbara Daily Sound opted to turn over some 144 unpublished photos of the aftermath of the 3/14 State Street gang brawl that ended in the death of 15-year-old Luis Angel Linares. On 7/30, Judge Brian Hill ordered the paper’s publishers to hand over the photos or face contempt of court charges and possible jail time. The Daily Sound printed dozens of the unpublished photos in its 8/3 edition.
