Students Protest at ATK Offices

Anti-War Groups Want the Munitions Manufacturer Out

More than two dozen students dressed as salespeople staged a mock auction of weapons at the entrance to the offices of ATK-a Minnesota-based ammunition manufacturer with offices in Santa Barbara and a plant in Goleta-at 735 State Street. ATK, maker of weapons and space systems, claims to be “the nation’s largest producer of commercial and military ammunition.” Protesters called the demonstration a “kickoff action in a campaign to force ATK out of the community and demilitarize Santa Barbara.”
