Although the Zaca Fire is in its final stages, the worst injury suffered by a front-line firefighter so far was sustained this week. On 8/27, 20-year-old Kern County firefighter Josh Lee fell some 30 feet from a rock overhanging the Sisquoc River Canyon. Flown by helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Lee sustained serious injuries, including a broken tibia and fibula in his left leg.
