•Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara is looking for volunteers to help mentor kids and lend a hand with ongoing weekend activities. Any and all persons interested are encouraged to call 682-7229 x303 for details.

•The Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association will hold its first Membership Mixer to recruit prospective members and inform those already involved about ongoing efforts to promote tourism in the valley on Wednesday, September 5, from 5-7 p.m. Call 686-0053.

•The Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara (2415 De la Vina St.) unveils its newest exhibit, Local Color, on Saturday, September 1. The show will feature works by members of the Artists of Step One nonprofit organization, which aims to educate the community about arts through its traveling shows.
