Williams, Blum Call for Troop Withdrawal


Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum and Councilmember Das Williams are pushing a resolution-scheduled for a hearing in two weeks-demanding that the U.S. withdraw its troops from Iraq. Williams will debate some council colleagues and members of the public, who argue City Hall has no international authority. Because so much federal money is allocated to the war effort, Williams argued that federal initiatives of local concern go unfunded.
