Santa Barbara High School’s assistant girl’s tennis coach, Peter Jeschke, 34, was arrested Friday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a high school student. According to a statement by the Santa Barbara Police Department, the victim—who is 16 years old—told her friends about the encounters, who in turn told the school. The school then called the police.
Police investigated Jeschke for a week before arresting him on Friday, when he was found to be in possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license, in addition to having an outstanding warrant from Los Angeles. Police said that more information will be available on Monday morning.
