Police Pursuit Ends In Collision


A police pursuit ended in a collision on 12/27, with a motorcycle colliding with an SUV. According to the Santa Barbara County Sherriff’s Department, deputies attempted to stop a motorcyclist for an unspecified traffic violation near the intersection of Broadway and Morrison in Santa Maria. The driver did not stop, so police pursued the driver, until a collision occurred with an SUV on Broadway near Carmen.

Police said that the driver of the SUV complained of pain, and also that the motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. The motorcyclist faces charges for evading police.
