The Spires Play the Mercury Lounge

thespires.jpgFor all the hip people of Santa Barbara: If you are looking for something to do on a Friday night, look no further. The Mercury Lounge will be hosting a night of musical excellence on March 9 with bands coming straight out of Cali. Ventura band The Spires will perform their new tracks from their recently released album Sky Sky, independently produced on their very own record company Beehouse Records. Influences for the band stem from Sonic Youth, Trees, to John Coltrane. The duo, a boy-and-girl act, bring you some filled melodies resembling British-sounding pop. Also playing that night, Los Angeles based The Western States Motel will be gracing the stage with their sunshine pop vibes. To make the mood of the night, DJ Mark from 91.9 KCSB will also be spinning his sounds on the dance floor. The Show starts at 8 p.m. For more info on the bands, check out and
