Environmental Groups Lobby Against City Planning Workshops

The third of four Plan Santa Barbara workshops, being conducted by planning staff in preparation for updating the City of Santa Barbara’s General Plan, was held June 28. One urban environmental group, the Allied Neighborhoods Association, has produced a pamphlet objecting to the process, claiming the city’s questions to the public are biased toward development. The planners, who have reported more than 100 hits daily on the Web site, will hold the final workshop on 7/7 at Hope School.
