Cause of Death Under Investigation

First reported missing Tuesday morning after he failed to return from a dive off the coast of Santa Cruz Island, 64-year-old Glen Ellen resident Stewart Hindley was found dead on Thursday by Coast Guard crews who had been searching for him. Reports indicate that his body was found 50 feet from his last reported location, and about 80 feet underwater.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of death.
