Buellton Puts the Breaks on Sphere of Influence Study

In a 3-2 vote on 7/12, the Buellton City Council put the brakes on a sphere of influence study that could have potentially paved the way for the city to grow by some 2,000 acres in coming years. After listening to two meetings’ worth of emotional public testimony - the vast majority of it in opposition - the council stopped the three-phase study before step two could even begin, claiming that it was “too soon” to look into such a radical change.
