Goleta Counters Santa Barbara’s Sphere of Influence Plan

The City of Goleta hastily concocted a strategy for countering the City of Santa Barbara’s bid to expand its sphere of influence into the Goleta Valley. The Local Agency Formation Commission will discuss Santa Barbara’s plan on 9/6. Goleta councilmember Jonny Wallis dissented, saying the sphere proposed for possible future incorporation into the city is larger than the one the previous council approved.
