Former Franciscan priest Louis Ladenburger, who taught at St. Anthony’s Seminary of Santa Barbara, was arrested last month for sexual battery. Ladenburger, who was a priest for more than 30 years, was treated for “inappropriate professional behavior and relationships” twice in the ’80s, and both times was recommended to return to the ministry. He was sent for a psychological review in the ’90s and released from the priesthood in 1996. Ladenburger is currently being held in Idaho on $100,000 bond, charged with three counts of sexual battery.
