Sounds Eclectic’s The Covers Project: KCRW’s Sounds Eclectic radio show — renowned for finding the best unknown music — delivers a compilation in which well-known songs are handled by slightly more underground artists, such as Girls in Hawai‘i doing Neil Young’s “Out on the Weekend,” The Magic Number’s version of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” and Nikka Costa performing Nina Simone’s “I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl.” It’s pretty and cool.
