Clarification on “Controlled” Zaca Fire

Confusion followed a U.S. Forest Service announcement that the Zaca Fire was controlled on 10/29, as many residents remembered a similar announcement being issued on 9/2. Forest Service spokesman Joe Pasinato explained that the fire was “contained” in September, meaning that a containment line was drawn around its perimeter. Since the fire no longer poses a threat to the containment line, it is now controlled.
