Yahoo!A Santa Barbara band called Them Terribles has just gotten one step closer to their big break after they beat out 5,000 other bands to become one of twelve finalists in the Dew Circuit Breakout '07. This MTV2-hosted competition has been a springboard for major artists like Yellowcard and Taking back Sunday.
Them Terribles guitarist Jonny Black entered the contest on a whim after seeing an ad on TV. These twelve groups will be widdled down to six by October 28 as fans vote online. By late in the year, only three bands will be left standing. They will perform in Times Square on December 8.
To amp up local support for their band in the competition, Them Terribles plan to perform in Isla Vista and Santa Barbara. Those who want to show local support and vote for them can do so at MTV2.com.
