The Santa Barbara Natural History Museum welcomed the “Moorpark” southern mammoth into its fold this week. Ironically transported to the museum from Moorpark in a Mammoth Moving truck on Tuesday morning, the prehistoric skeleton is expected to stand 12 feet tall and features eight-foot tusks when fully assembled. Officials hope that portions of the beast will be available for viewing by summer 2008.
