Devon Sproule

Keep Your Silver Shined

If you missed Virginia-based singer/songwriter Devon Sproule’s CD launch at the Presidio Chapel earlier this year, be sure to snag a copy of this utterly charming album at her Tales from the Tavern appearance in October. Captivating vignettes of love, marriage, and the idyllic Blue Ridge countryside are coupled with timeless melodies and playfully narrated with lush, poetic lyrics. Combining a mesmerizing assemblage of impeccably delivered Appalachia-influenced roots and jazz-tinged folk tunes, the album has a breezy, vintage feel and a refreshingly understated simplicity. I can’t seem to listen to anything else anymore.
