Poire Becomes New SB City Fire Marshall

Promotion Is Highlight of 25 Years of Public Service


The City of Santa Barbara Fire Department announced today that Joe Poire has been promoted to the position of fire marshal. A City employee for more than 25 years who began as a Police and Fire Communications Specialist, Poire has been the supervisor of the Fire Prevention Bureau since 1999. A statement from the Santa Barbara Fire Department praised Poire as a “highly respected member of the City’s Land Development Team” whose experience with the fire code will help him fill the position of fire marshal effectively.
