Carp Poetry Bash

Spoken word fans will be flocking to Carp this Saturday, October 20, from 7-9 p.m. for Avocado Press’s Black and White and Re(a)d All Over, a poetry-infused benefit for the Carpinteria Valley Arts Center (855 Linden Ave., Carpinteria). The evening will include an open mike, but will feature readings from renowned poets Sojourner Kincaid Rolle, who recently released a CD, and Melinda Palacio, a South Central L.A. native turned Santa Barbaran who edits the online magazine Ink Byte.
