Two Teens Killed in Goleta Crash


A head-on collision near the intersection of Calle Real and Mendocino Drive in Goleta killed Juan Alvarez, 19, and David Ramirez, 18, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on 10/17. Both were transported from the accident scene to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital before being pronounced dead. Two other occupants of Alvarez’s vehicle are also recovering from injuries doctors are calling “serious but not life-threatening.” Vehicle speed is being factored into the ongoing investigation.
