UCSB Receives Increased Federal Funding

UCSB announced 10/22 that it received $176 million in external research funding during the last fiscal year, a record amount and an 11 percent increase over the previous year. The largest source of funding, as it has been for more than a decade, was the National Science Foundation, while the Department of Defense came in second. Nearly 70 percent, $121.3 million, of UCSB’s external research funding came from federal agencies.
