Santa Barbara has been added to the stops on international journalist Amy Goodman’s book promotion tour. The popular host of the once-obscure public access television show Democracy Now! is scheduled to discuss Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times at Santa Barbara’s La Casa de La Raza on Friday, April 25.
The event includes a documentary short, a talk by Goodman, a book signing, an art exhibit featuring Santa Barbara artist Ray Cirerol, and a reception, with DJs and a cash bar. Co-author David Goodman, Amy’s brother, will be there too. It all takes place from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at 601 E. Montecito Street, co-sponsored by Chaucer’s Books and the Santa Barbara Independent. The suggested donation for the non-profit fundraiser is $10.

This event is being presented by KCSB 91.9 FM (kcsb.org) & La Casa De La Raza. Thanks to the Independent for its support on this!
And one note: Amy Goodman won't be at the early reception, but audience members will have plenty of time to mix with her later in the evening!
