Rescue Searches For Downed Plane

Santa Barbara County Rescue crews are still searching western Cuyama Valley for Chris Kidd, 45, whose plane apparently vanished somewhere in the area on 2/5. Kidd took off from a private airstrip at his residence in Kern County to survey cattle on his family’s ranch near Cottonwood Canyon Road, west of New Cuyama. When he failed to phone his father with the survey results, a search was mounted.
