In conjunction with UCSB and other universities, the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network was recently established in Goleta by Wayne Rosing to provide complete visual coverage of space. There will be 60 telescopes in at least six sites worldwide, including Chile, South Africa, Australia, Hawai'I, and the Canary Islands. "Our plan for the next 20 years is to study and do as much science as we can," Rosing said.
