Claims that the number of illegal military murders in the Central African Republic have dropped significantly are irrelevant. Although lower numbers are a sign of improvement, all killings must be stopped. There is no gray area when it comes to the lives of human beings. The government cannot hide under improving statistics and hopes of a better tomorrow. The Central African Republic has been tormented by a violent power struggle since their independence from France and the subsequent death of their “founding father,” Barthelemy Boganda. This country needs peace and virtuous leaders to guide the way.

One way to solve this is stricter and harsher punishment for those who have committed these amoral killings. There is little fear of being caught and tried for their crimes. These unfair and unprincipled killers are still commanding troops. Whole towns flee at the news of one of these murders coming to their town. How can a government allow their own people to be tormented and slaughtered by their own officials? The Central African Republic is unsuccessful in catching these murders, and that is why they need help and someone to intervene and help them stop this iniquitous murders forever and have honest and trustworthy leaders show them the way to an advantageous and peaceful future. Only in this undisturbed environment can the people of the Central African Republic thrive and grow. -Julia Kent
