As a result of runway construction at the Santa Barbara Airport, some equipment used to help aircraft land during bad weather has been turned off, airport officials said. As a result, planes destined for Santa Barbara that encounter rain or fog upon arrival will be diverted to Los Angeles. Passengers will then take two-hour shuttle rides to Santa Barbara. New equipment is expected to be functional in April.
