    Sub Pop; April 2008

It would be easy not to take Flight of the Conchords' hilarious self-titled third disk seriously, but quite frankly, the mixing is pretty intelligent and the album never really fails musically. The record, also the name of the HBO special that more or less introduced the New Zealand duo to the United States, features funky beats, pokes fun at the hardships and monotony of everyday life, and addresses the pressures of being young and broke. Basically, it's a full-length anthem for the utterly lost and unquenchably thirsty 2000-generation. "Business Time," a track that notes what a bore monogamy can become, and "Inner City Pressure," an ¼ber-synthesized '80s-inspired track about financial woes, are definite highlights of the 16-song release-which is not to say that the other 14 aren't just as good.
