Ever wish you could take a look at the human body all the way through, as if it were sliced into layers? Well, let out that breath, because now’s your chance. The S.B. Museum of Natural History will offer a peek of the Body Worlds 3 & The Story of the Heart exhibition currently on display at the California Science Center in L.A. (californiasciencecenter.org) when the “Six-Meter Woman” comes to town. Just one of 200 specimens in the L.A. exhibit, the woman is a transparent “plastinated” body that has been thoroughly sliced to allow excellent views of its inner workings. Although it sounds a bit macabre, the Body World exhibits are fascinating and help facilitate a better understanding of the structure and function of the human body. You can see the woman through Monday, September 1. For more info, call 682-4711 or visit sbnature.org.
