After comments by Bacara lawyers and the public, the Goleta City Council at its 5/20 meeting voted to initiate the further study of several General Plan amendments proposed by the resort. Some Goletans felt that too little opportunity for public comment was offered, but the Bacara was fairly well represented by supportive employees. Among other items, the council ruled that 24/7 public access to Haskell’s Beach would be preserved unless public safety became a concern.
