Santa Barbara News-Press computer technician Patrick Windmiller was laid off by the beleaguered daily newspaper on 5/15, the latest in a string of 11 employees to end their tenures in the past two weeks. And on 5/16, the paper hired a new reporter: investigative journalist and novelist Robert Eringer.
