When I was appointed as pastor of Montecito’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in 1997, I went to visit Father Virgil. I still remember his words to me: "Maurice, if you ever need any help, all you have to do is ask." What a beautiful Christ-centered priest! May God grant eternal rest to this faithful son of St. Francis of Assisi.
