Yahoo!I loved Fr. Virgil. He was the vitamin for my soul for over 40 years. From the Mission on Sunday to the many boards we sat on together, he made me smile, believe in humanity, and accept other's differences.
His invocations were especially inspiring, often written on a scrap of
Paper. When I would ask for a copy, he would say you can't read what I wrote.
He was right! I tried once and after the meeting just handed it back to him.
But he made sure I got a copy of most of them in A Spirituality for All Of Reality
his book of sermons, talks, essays, and invocations where he signed it to me with these
words: "To Barbara, May you discover a way of growing through all your experiences."
Anyone who experienced Father Virgil grew in mutual love and concern for the good of others and we all will continue to blossom into our full, true selves.
