    I just found out about the horrible fire in Santa Barbara. I know that the people of Kansas know something of destruction. We have had our fair share of tornadoes in our state and so many have lost their homes. When a hurricane, fire, earthquake, or tornado comes to our lands, it is impossible to know the panic and shock that follow.

    I send my prayers to the victims of the fire in your state and I pray that help will be swift. Home is the place people feel safe and cared for, and now that has been destroyed for so many, and the people of Kansas send their concern and prayers. I know those who have lost their homes will find new hope but only by the help of those who care. — Rebecca Lyn Phillips, Topeka
