I’m so glad that we’ll have a president who get through a grammatical, complex sentence all by himself, and who is a true scholar, and who will bring academic thinking and deep intelligence back into style for our country.
When did high class, thoughtfulness, and the love of reading and speaking at high levels go out of vogue?
Eight horrifying years ago. Here’s hoping that, with our new leadership, we can all regain the courage to reach toward higher levels of thought and expression when we converse with each other.
Bush really dragged the populace down into lowest common denominator-land for the last eight years, and treated the country as if it were merely a corporation. And a mentally deficient one at that.
This past administration was so wrong-ety-wrong-wrong on so many levels, and has severely oppressed this country for far too long, and has resulted in the serious national financial debacles of this past year. Who can’t see that?
To generalize Obama as a “socialist” with terrorist associations is an illogical, downright idiotic interpretation by the knuckle-dragging TV punditry that has pervaded the American consciousness for 8 years.
I have taught college courses in critical thinking, composition, and rhetorical analysis. Please--we’ve just got to bring logic back into vogue.
I truly have the audacity of hope for this next administration. And I truly give the double-finger to this outgoing travesty of leadership. -Elizabeth Morgan

@Ms. Morgan
I applaud the idea that we as a people should rise above the schoolyard arguments that replace thoughtful discussion in the modern US.
I am also greatly amused, in that you take such lengths to write about better thinking and communication, yet end with a description of a "vulgar" gesture. Oh, the irony!
"wrong-ety-wrong-wrong" also nets a laugh. :)

Bear in mind that Mussolini was the only leader at the Munich conference that didn't need a translator for the various languages spoken there.
