The latest installment of Poodle Radio — the Indy's new news, arts, and entertainment community radio program broadcast on KCSB's sister station, KJUC— focuses on Santa Barbara County's lifeguard service. Indy reporter Ben Preston hosts Jon Menzies, Santa Barbara County's Aquatics Coordinator and Lifeguard Supervisor, in a look at a recent training session in Santa Barbara with lifeguards from Baja California Norte, Mexico, along with some of the other training and equipment programs Menzies and his staff are organizing through funding from grants and donations. Preston also provides informational resources for Tea Fire victims. The show is framed with plangent musical interludes from Stan Kenton's post-WWII orchestra and their "wall of sound."
