A Vote for MacKinnon for Judge

As a resident in North County, I am asking South County’s support for Superior Court Judge candidate John MacKinnon. This position will be here in North County where he is badly needed. John MacKinnon is now in a runoff with someone who does not have either his background or current court experience.

Let me tell you something alarming about Santa Maria. We have a lovely, older neighborhood called the Carriage District. Just a few weeks ago, there were thieves blatantly and openly attempting theft in that area, not once but twice! This is how bold the gangs have become in our area. We need a judge who, when faced with these miscreants, will hold them accountable. John MacKinnon will do just that.

John has spent many years in the District Attorney’s Office here in Santa Maria. He was the DA’s representative to the Santa Maria Drug and Mental Health Courts. Also, he has actual courtroom experience. His opponent has been a research lawyer during this time out of touch with the current problems in our community.

John has the support of law enforcement agencies, including the Santa Barbara Police Officers Association, Santa Barbara Firefighters Association, and the Santa Barbara Deputy Sheriff’s Association as well as the Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorney’s Association. This says they believe John MacKinnon is the right choice for this important position.
