Goleta 9-4

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors voted on 9/2 to form the Goleta Valley Planning Advisory Committee, the members of which were appointed after being nominated by 2nd District Supervisor Janet Wolf. The appointees-Edwin Adams, Thomas Elliott, Kenan Ezal, Bonnie Freeman, Kenneth Mineau, Valerie Olson, and Kimberly True-were selected to represent a variety of professional and community interests in helping shape the new Goleta Valley Community Plan.

Goleta finally had its fireworks show on the evening 9/1 at Girsh Park. The planned Goleta Rotary-sponsored Independence Day celebration was postponed as a result of the Gap Fire, a different and altogether less pleasant sort of pyrotechnic display. The Labor Day fireworks show was dedicated to the people who fought the Gap Fire.
