Kites in Flight

Need another reason to celebrate the sunny season in S.B.? Head over to S.B. City College’s Great Meadow this Sunday for the 24th Annual Kite Festival, a sun- and fun-filled family-style affair featuring kite-wielders of all ages competing in sport fighting games and flying competitions. Everyone is welcome to compete, but if you’d rather just enjoy the scenery, the view from the bluff-top lawn-which overlooks the harbor and breakwater-is the perfect backdrop to watch kites of all sizes, shapes, and colors as they float, flutter, and fly by. It takes place Sunday, April 5, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at SBCC’s West Campus (721 Cliff Dr.). Free. Call 637-6202 for more info.
