Still need help filing your taxes? This week, the Housing Authority of the City of S.B. will open its facilities for the eighth year in a row to offer free income tax preparation services to lower-income families and individuals. Last year, the organization helped file more than 890 tax returns for S.B. residents, securing more than $800,000 in refunds. The program also specializes in helping taxpayers claim any special tax credits they may be entitled to for the 2008 fiscal year. If your income is less than $45,000, call 965-1071 to see if you qualify for the Housing Authority’s services or for more info.
