Now that the Sleeves Bandit is behind bars, his bank-robbing competition seems to be coming out of the woodwork. Some, however, don’t seem able to stay out of the woodwork for very long.

After responding to a bank robbery call at approximately 1:17 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, Santa Barbara Police officers arrested Kevin Keith Harrison after finding him hiding in the bushes behind the Burger King on the 3700 block of State Street. Harrison, a 50-year-old Goleta resident, is accused of entering the Citibank branch located at 3757 State Street and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash after alluding to a weapon. No weapon was discovered or collected by officers.

After he left the bank, a Citibank employee followed Harrison as he made his way down State Street and directed officers to Harrison’s eventual location. A search of the area where he was found yielded the stolen money bag. Detectives are currently looking into the possibility that Harrison is responsible for previous bank robberies in the area.
