Coalition Against Gun Violence Holds Youth Empowerment for Safety Weekend


In honor of Youth Empowerment for Safety (YES) weekend, S.B.’s Coalition Against Gun Violence is holding an elegant luncheon and silent auction, featuring a talk by Mayor Marty Blum, who will discuss safety in our community. The weekend culminates with the coalition’s traditional Bell Ceremony, during which individuals honor the loss of loved ones due to gun violence, as well as the victims of 2005’s Goleta Post Office shooting tragedy. Sunday, May 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hotel Mar Monte (1111 E. Cabrillo Blvd.). $55. Call 564-6803.
