Solvang Lutheran Home to Host Annual Summer Fundraiser; Hospice of S.B. Seeks Volunteers

• The Solvang Lutheran Home will be hosting its Annual Summer Fundraiser to help benefit the quality of life for retired seniors. Come and enjoy the ethnic cuisine, prizes, raffles, and Hawaiian entertainment that’ll all aid in benefiting a great cause. It takes place Saturday, August 22, at 6 p.m. at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Building (1745 Mission Dr., Solvang). $75. Call 688-3263.

• Hospice of S.B. is looking for individuals to volunteer for its I Have a Friend mentor program. Mentor volunteers are adults who have experienced the loss or death of a loved one as a child. The program will match volunteers with children who have encountered similar circumstances, at which point mentors will help children cope with and grow from said losses. The program aims to have children understand that not only are they normal, but they can flourish into thriving, successful beings. Call 563-8820.
