COMMUNI-TY: Whereas most UCSB students skip town upon graduation, Indy intern Ty Manning chose to get more involved with the Santa Barbara scene. In addition to writing up arts and news stories here, this English major and Canyon Lake native also has been working as a database coordinator for Pacific Pride, the nonprofit benefiting the county’s AIDS- and HIV-stricken residents. Manning noted that he’s rooting for his employer to pull through recent budget cuts. “In the future, I hope the services [Pacific Pride] offers will still be available for those who need them,” he said.
