Son of Kenny Loggins and winner of the MTV reality show Rock the Cradle, Crosby Loggins has long been in the presence of talented musicians. On Time to Move, Loggins teams up with producer John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band) to create a musically stunning success. The album blends pop-rock melodies with autobiographical and emotionally touching lyrics that draw the listener in and inspire them to relate. Move’s title track is an emotional journey through Loggins’s warm, lovelorn lyrics, which are inflected beautifully and backed by some seriously melodic rhythms. Of special note are the track’s guitar parts, delivered flawlessly by Mayer himself. Meanwhile, “Only One” is a catchy and expressively captivating song about knowing what you want. For those who refuse to take adult contemporary tunes seriously, Time to Move proves that mom-friendly rock can be cool, too.
