Ageing Gracefully

SBCC’s Mind & Supermind lecture series is up and running, and the next event slated is an appearance by Angeles Arrien. A cultural anthropologist and award-winning author, Arrien is best known for her work on how diverse cultures handle the challenges of growing old. She will discuss her latest book The Second Half of Life: Opening the Eight Gates of Wisdom, in which she “retrieves the world’s vital wisdom teachings that have opened people at midlife to the deeper mysteries of who they are and why they are truly here.” The event takes place Monday, February 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the Lobero Theatre (33 E. Canon Perdido St.). Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call the Lobero box office at 963-0761 or (888) 456-2376, or visit lobero.com.
