How much does Santa Barbara charge if you decided to evacuate during the Jesusita Fire? $90!
My wife’s company sent her home due to poor air quality on Wednesday during the fire. We decided that it may be a good time to grab some things out of the house in case the fire approaches. We met at our house on Castillo Street and started packing up some belongings. When we started to move some stuff into our cars we were surprised to see two $45 parking tickets waiting for us. It apparently was street-cleaning day and our house was on the side of the street due for a cleaning.
We attempted to appeal the tickets by stating the above situation. However, Santa Barbara township decided to continue with the fine.
Side note, why does the Westside have street cleaning but not the Eastside? Are their streets made of a magical material that doesn’t get dirty?
