Santa Barbara police conducted a Chapala Street DUI checkpoint on 7/3 that netted three people for intoxicated driving out of the 987 cars that passed through. A total of 11 vehicles were towed, 10 of which were towed for a 30-day hold. One traffic citation was issued. A 6/28 DUI checkpoint also on Chapala Street processed 218 vehicles and found none to have been driven by intoxicated people.
