Now Oreana Winery (205 Anacapa St., 962-5857, oreanawinery.com) is ready to celebrate its Fifth Anniversary on Sunday, July 5, starting at 5 p.m. (Can you spot the theme?) A remodel of the tasting room should be complete, and that’s just one reason to be festive. No doubt the summer releases of a tempranillo and a malbec rosé, neither too typical for S.B., won’t hurt the fun. But wait, there’s more … the Burger Bus will be parked and slinging, and musical guests like Spencer the Gardener and Tommy & the High Pilots will be singing. Garvin also hints at a “special guest who is nonmusical, but is an actor who lives locally and often likes to sing after a few glasses of pinot noir.” Then, as darkness falls, Oreana will continue its “Outdoor Movie Night” series with a screening of Jaws, as nothing says summer like terror at the beach while the ocean runs red as with wine.
