Growing Gardens

Art From Scrap’s Green Schools Program is offering a School Gardening and Composting workshop this week at Peabody Charter School (3018 Calle Noguera) for teachers, aides, and parent volunteers. Participants will learn about:

¼ nontoxic and organic gardening methods

¼ composting food and garden waste in school and home settings

¼ different composting methods (including worm bins, hot piles, mulching, and more)

¼ how to harvest and use compost

All attendees will receive free seeds, organic plant starts, and handouts after the workshop. 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. $5. Call 884-0459x12 for more info.
